This isn’t something we ever planned to write.

 

After a long journey, AquaCats is saying goodbye.

 

We didn’t build this brand to chase trends or flood warehouses. 

We built it because we love cats. Simple as that.


The way they curl up after a long play session and just… disappear into sleep.

 

Those small, silly, everyday moments that only cat people really get.

 

Those moments mattered to us.
And for a long time, they made everything worth it.

All Started With a Frustration Every Cat Owner Knows

If you’ve ever bought something for your cat with high hopes — only to watch them ignore it completely — you’re not alone.

 

We heard the same stories again and again:

"I tried everything."
"She loses interest after five minutes." 
"I just want her to actually enjoy something."

 

Most people blame their cat.


But what we learned is this:

Cats are not lazy, they're bored.

That's because nothing in an indoor enviroment triggers their natural hunting instinct.

 

That insight changed everything for us.

What Made AquaPaws Different

We stopped trying to convince cats.

Instead, we focused on something much simpler:
recreating the same hunting conditions as in the wild.

 

No pattern to solve.

No electronical movement.

No Predictability.
No gimmicks.

 

So after months of research we came to the conclusion.

Water is the only thing that makes things move truely random.
When your Cats pouch, jump, paw or run, the fishes inside glide around completly unpredictable.

 

When it worked, customers didn’t talk about features.
They talked about behavior.

"I've never seen her play like that before."
"He was obsessed with it from the first second."

So Why Are We Closing?

Because being small comes with hard limits.

 

We don’t have factories.
We don’t have investors.


And with rising production and operating costs, continuing just isn’t possible anymore.

 

This decision wasn’t made lightly.


And it’s one of the hardest we’ve had to make.

But we wanted to handle this ending the same way we handled the product itself — honestly, and without forcing anything.

Meet the Team

(and the Cats Who Ran the Office)

AquaCats was never a big company.
It was a small team — and a lot of cats.

 

Lena — Founder
Cats: Milo, Poppy & Bean
My cats all had completely different personalities, and none of them agreed on what a “good toy” was. That frustration is what started AquaCats in the first place. If a new feature worked for all three, it stayed. If not, it was scrapped.

 

Jonas — Product & Operations
Cat: Nala (senior, playing professional)
Nala was the benchmark. Jonas tested every version of the Mat with her, especially during Warmer months. If it didn’t become her abolute favorite toy, it didn’t ship.

 

Sophie — Customer Care
Cats: Luna & Ivy
Sophie read every message that came in — from happy updates to skeptical questions. Luna needed time to warm up to anything new, Ivy played instantly. Together, they were a daily reminder that cats choose in their own way and on their own schedule when to play.

 

Mark — Logistics & Packing
No cat… yet (so far 😉)
Mark packed every order by hand and learned quickly that cats always know when boxes are involved. Working here might be the fastest way he ends up adopting one.

Because this is our final batch, we didn’t want this ending to feel like a clearance sale.

 

Raising prices or pushing discounts didn’t sit right with us.

 

So instead, we made a different decision:
